Simpson United Methodist Church (UMC) was
founded as a mission church to the community in 1897. That heritage is continued
today. Just as the structure of the building has changed through the years, so
the needs of the community have been altered over a century.
As disciples of Jesus Christ we are committed to witness and serve within the congregation and community with a Holy and Bold faith. Simpson UMC is committed to neighborhood ministry and maintains a strong connection to persons and groups within the community.
Our desire is to offer a multiple ministry
program that meets the spiritual needs of persons of all groups, ages, ethnic
background and interest. As the
beloved community of Jesus we will strive to be inclusive of all persons and
celebrate all diversity; therefore all persons are welcomed in this
congregation. It is our hope that you will find opportunities here for spiritual
growth, that you will be nurtured in your journey with God, and that you will
discover ways to live out your faith in service with the people of God.
In
a time when many churches are closing and others are moving to the suburbs, the
congregation at Simpson is determined to remain a beacon of light proclaiming
the power of God’s love and redemption at the corner of West 86th and Clark,
Cleveland, OH. We would love to have you come and join us. We welcome you as a
part of our faith
community. Grounded in Scripture, Tradition, Faith, Experience, and Reason, we
will seek to widen the circle of those who know the love of God and live their
daily lives in faithfulness. This congregation is open to persons of all ages,
races, cultural and ethnic backgrounds, and sexual orientations. Come as you are
and discover God’s embrace.
