Ministry in Virtual Reality
Simpson
Mt-Airy, like all other congregations across the land is bearing up under
the weight of
the ailing US economy’s impact on individuals and families alike. We
believe, nevertheless, that just
as our ancestors stood firm in the face of
untold and incredible challenges both natural and
man-made Simpson’s congregants will also be found
standing when the challenges have ended
Towards this end, we shall embrace August as a period of Reflection and
Revival under the
mantle of Luke 8.22-25. Our spiritual context, “The Wind,
the Waves, a Storm and Deliverance” we
believe, aptly recalls the many
challenges Simpson and congregations of faith across the land have
faced in
2009. The great loss of homes, jobs, careers, life’s savings, sons,
daughters, husbands, wives,
brothers and sisters to wars in Afghanistan and
Iraq provokes an outcry toward heaven that is intended
to shake the very
gates of heaven as we seek God’s mercy and compassion. In short, during
this period
of spiritual ‘retreat’ to pray and to intercede on behalf of
those who suffer we exit in Revival: revived in
spirit, revived in faith, and revived with a renewed
determination to stand. “For we know that our
struggle is not against enemies of blood and flesh, but
against the rulers, against the authorities, against
the cosmic powers of this present darkness, against the
spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places”
(Ephesians 6.12).
Join with us. Stand with us, and Worship with us each August Sunday
afternoon beginning at 2PM.
