The Living Water Praise Service
flows to you at 10:15 a.m. each Sunday morning. The
standard elements of worship are the same as traditional services, however the delivery of these
elements are more contemporary. This service has a more upbeat and fun
loving atmosphere than our normal traditional service.
Living Water is a simple, casual, and fun way to worship Jesus, even for those who weren't raised in the traditional church. And, yes, this contemporary service is working and working well, not only in bringing the church's message to those who haven't regularly attended a church, but by increasing the number of members in our overall church family.
Our Mission: "Helping people meet God and grow in relationships with Him."
A recent survey estimated that within a 5-mile radius of Sikeston there are 17,000 persons not now attending church services. FUMC is reaching out to these people with the message of Jesus in ways in which they are familiar such as drama, Salvation's Well praise band, video, and graphics. Additionally, the use of candles, scent diffusers, cloths, and vases will support the Biblical message, helping to create a more relaxed and home-like atmosphere.
The welcoming of guests is an important part of the praise service. Greeters hope to meet and welcome all newcomers to the service as they arrive and certainly before they leave the service. We want everyone to feel welcome while they are at First Church, and we will encourage everyone to return for future services.
