Emergency Response Network: California-Nevada Annual Conference

 

In the event of a natural disaster, community or national emergency, or any other non-personnel event that greatly effects the California-Nevada Annual Conference in any way, the office of UMVIM in the West Sacramento Annual Conference Center will be considered a central and information clearing house.  Our Conference staff will be informed of this, and any publications dealing with this subject along with our web site will publish the following information:


To report an emergency, to request help in an emergency, to check on the status of an emergency and United Methodist involvement in an emergency effecting the California-Nevada Annual Conference, persons are directed to contact the office of UMVIM Coordination at

The office of UMVIM Coordination’s role in Disaster Response is merely one of information coordination.  All inquiries and telephone communications will be distributed according to the following:

In the event of a disaster such as earthquake, fire, flood, military invasion, etc. threatening the stability of the area of the California-Nevada Annual Conference, the UMVIM Coordinator will make way to the Conference Center Office, if at all possible, in an effort to keep the communications operable.  In the event that West Sacramento is involved in the disaster to the point where the Annual Conference office is not accessible, or safe to access, the Annual Conference center and base of emergency communication will shift to First UMC – Lodi (209-368-5357).

Disaster and Emergency Response is seen as a collaborative effort between the offices of Disaster Response, UMVIM, Emergency/Early Response; in consultation with the Bishop and with the Directors of Connectional Ministries.
