The South Georgia Conference met during Annual Conference at Wesley Community Centers in Savannah, Georgia. The SGCHS participated in the 2007 Day of Service project where we painted the new building recently aquired by WCC. After the project the SGCHS met over lunch to hear an excellent presentation on the history of Christ Episcopal Church. John Wesley and George Whitefield were both pastors at Christ Church. The South Georgia Conference Historical Society met during Annual Conference in the Mills Chapel at the Methodist Home for Children and Youth in Macon, Georgia.

The program honored the Bass and Vineville United Methodist Churches on their each being designated Conference Historical Sites. Both churches have played significant roles in the history of Methodism in Macon, as well as the South Georgia Conference.

The SGCHS also presented the first two Historian's Excellence Awards to Janette Brooks, Historian of Bass United Methodist Church and Mary Domingos, Historian of Vineville United Methodist Church. Each did exceptional work in leading their congregations to their official Historical Site status.
