The pastor grew up in the small
town of New Lebanon, about 25
miles east of
Albany New York. She grew up in a Christian
home, and was
active in her church, being in youth group and
later teaching
Sunday School. At 16 after going to a Youth
Rally she received
a her calling from God into the ministry.
The journey to
Ordained Ministry was a long road and in hind
site is thankful
for the lessons learned.
She received her
Bachelor’s Degree in Theology at a small
women’s college in
Ohio, Western College in Oxford. After
returning home to
earn funds to attend seminary she met and
married her husband
of 31 years. She worked in Berkshire
Medical Hospital
for 27 years, being a nurse’s aide, coordinator
of the emergency
room and finally a pharmacy technician. At
the prodding of her
husband she took the Clinical Pastor Education
course at the
hospital. An eight month course which teaches
listening and
counseling skills. In 1981 Bonnie and Rick became
parents to Sonya,
now 22 and a graduate of College of the Atlantic
in Bar Harbor
Maine. At 41 she began Seminary at Wesley
Theological School
in Washington D.C. on the Local
Pastor tract. She
was assigned her first pastorate in 1991, and then
added a second
church in 1996. So while raising a daughter, going
to Seminary, having
two churches, and working in the hospital 70
hours every other
week, she kept quite busy. In 2000 she entered
the pastoral full
time and was transferred to Schuylerville and
Quaker Springs
churches. In 2001 she was ordained and became
an a Associate
Member of the Troy Annual Conference. She
believes the Lord
has blessed her in all things, her calling into the
ministry of
ordained clergy, her marriage, motherhood, daughter,
and friends. She
prays that she can become your pastor and shepherd,
helping to further
your relationship to Jesus Christ. She prays
that you will be
encouraged by the Holy Spirit within you to join us
in the community of
the body of Christ alive in both our churches.
