Objectives
for 4 year olds
1.
Children will learn to function
in an age appropriate classroom
setting
to learn and allow
others to learn
2. Children will learn to
follow a classroom routine and
follow classroom rules
3.
Children will improve their
social skills through
cooperative and creative play.
4.
Children will gain proficiency
in verbalizing their needs and
feelings.
5.
Children will learn shapes and
colors.
6.
Children will learn to count 1 -
12 and try to 20.
7.
Children will become familiar
with the letters of the alphabet
including
beginning to write letters,
write their names, and beginning
to recognize
initial letter sounds in words.
8.
Children will participate in
basic beginning math activities
such as:
sorting, patterning and
grouping.
9.
Children will improve their
gross motor skills with
activities such as
running, hopping, skipping,
jumping and climbing.
10.
Children will improve their
fine motor skills through use
of manipulative
(lacing, puzzles, sorting,
pegboards, etc.) and art
supplies (crayons, scissors...)
11.
Children will gain appreciation
for the world around them and
how it works
through the seasons.
12.
Children will learn about people
and customs in the community and
the world around them.
13.
Children will gain exposure to a
broad literary base through
stories and books.
14.
Children will learn to
incorporate basic Christian
values into daily life through
prayers and bible stories.
15. Above all children will
