WMSJ - Contemporary
Christian Music
From the Music Director
If
you have attended church regularly this summer, you have been treated to a
variety of wonderful music by some of the many gifted musicians in our midst.
My thanks to each person who has contributed to the service or special
music; you have been a blessing to us all.
As
fall approaches the many musical groups of SSUMC will resume their ministry.
If you have ever considered joining a singing group, or trying handbells,
or if you play an instrument and would like to be part of the music of School
Street Church, please know that there is a place for you.
Feel free to speak to any member of a music group for more information.
The
adult choir will begin on September 14th.
It’s always great to see familiar faces there, but we LOVE to see new
faces as well! If you love to sing
and have ever considered joining the choir, we rehearse from 9:00-10:00 Sunday
mornings. Not sure whether you can
commit to every Sunday? We invite
you to try us for a few weeks; come when you can, or plan to sing for shorter
blocks of time. Singing is its own
reward; a wonderful way to glorify God, great for stress relief, and good
exercise besides! You can call
me at 892-4377, or my email is klcaebaker@aol.com.

Children's Choir
Singing is a wonderful way to worship and sing our praises
to God. Children are naturally drawn to music and its rhythm. They learn words
quickly and are not afraid to lift their voices on high! If your child would
like to be involved in the children's choir, we meet Sunday mornings from
9:45-10:15. Please join us downstairs in "the big room" so that you too
can "make a joyful noise unto the Lord." If you have any questions,
please see Lori McCarty.
NEW
BELL CHOIR
We
are looking for new bell ringers. If you are 8 years and up, we would love to
have you.
We
rehearse on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. for 1 hour. The first rehearsal will be
October 1st, and for new ringers only. Please see me after church or call me at
839-3185. I need to know how many ringers I will have so I can get the music
marked before the first rehearsal. The only requirement is that you want to play
bells. You do not have to know how to read music. Please give it some serious
thought. We always need ringers. I will have a rehearsal and performance
schedule ready for the first rehearsal. If you have any questions, please call
me.
Lets
ring to the Glory of God!
