School Street United Methodist Church Nursery

Behold children are a gift of the Lord; the fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth. How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.” Psalm 127

Welcome to School Street United Methodist Church Nursery.  It is our goal to provide your child with quality care and provide a service to you as a parent. If you are visiting us for the first time, the nursery is located behind the fellowship room. Upon entering the church, take your second left and walk straight through the fellowship room. The nursery room entrance is located on your left.

 General Guidelines

Our nursery is available to all children ranging from birth to four years old.  Older children may enjoy attending our Sunday School classes or attending the service with you in the sanctuary.

The nursery is staffed by parish volunteers and the parents of the children utilizing the facility.  These caregivers staff the nursery on a rotating basis.  The caregivers will be available to receive the infants and toddlers ten minutes prior to worship.

When To Keep Your Child At Home

We ask that you keep your child out of the nursery if they have any of the following symptoms:

  • Fever
  • Runny nose
  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting in the last 24 hours
  • Constant raspy cough
  • Questionable rash

Children can become ill very quickly.  If your child should become ill while in our care, we will notify you immediately.

It is our hope that this information will help acquaint you with the policies and procedures of the Nursery Department at School Street United Methodist Church .  We want the nursery to be a safe, healthy and welcoming place for your children to be while you gather with fellow parishioners in the sanctuary.

Please be sure to leave written suggestions or comments for the nursery coordinator with the caregiver.  We welcome your feedback and will work to improve your child’s nursery experience whenever possible.

Ideas For Making Our Nursery A Great Place To Be…

  • Pray for the caregivers and nursery children.
  • Volunteer to help in the nursery.
  • Contribute new or well cleaned toys approved by the nursery coordinator.
  • Encourage volunteers by expressing your appreciation.
  • Share constructive suggestions for improving our nursery to the nursery coordinator.
