Organization

United Methodist Women is a membership organization comprising close to 1-million members across the United States.  Any woman committing herself to the PURPOSE of the organization can be a member. 

Women are invited to be involved in leadership at the local, district, conference, jurisdiction or national level.  By doing so, you become a woman committed to mission with women, children and youth!

Membership in United Methodist Women can be expressed in one or more of the following ways:

• attendance at meetings;
• undesignated giving to support global mission;
• intercessory prayer;
• meaningful community involvement;
• participation in varied events, projects, issues and concerns of the Women's Division;
• accepting leadership responsibility.

The Meaning of Membership

Membership in Saugerties United Methodist Women is voluntary. Any woman who chooses to belong may become a member by fulfilling the PURPOSE.

Saugerties United Methodist Women - Our Purpose

SAUGERTIES UNITED METHODIST WOMEN is a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God, and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

Missions

Provide outreach to the members of the church who are sick, incapacitated, or just in need of a friend.

Meetings

We meet together on the first Sunday of the month after church from 12 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. We think creatively in planning ways to aid missions through fundraisers, giving special offerings, and aiding special projects.

Program – Globalization

The goal of this program is to introduce participants to issues related to globalization and encourage discussion and further study on these issues.

May

Program – God’s Song in God’s Mission

Program was based on 2007-08 spiritual growth study. The program explored biblical, the Logical and Wesleyuns understandings of mission and how they are expressed in mission hymns.
