Santa Clara United Methodist
Church Children’s Ministry

Our Mission
The mission of our children’s ministry is
to provide fun and exciting opportunities for fellowship
and growth in Jesus Christ for children of all ages.

Goals
1. To provide a Bible based ministry to our children - creatively bringing God’s word into action in fun and exciting ways.
2. To develop lasting relationships between our children, giving them a strong foundation of Christ’s love and support.
“Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.”
-Proverbs 22:6

3. To maintain a safe Christian atmosphere where our children and leaders can incorporate their gifts and talents, and to share these with our community - thus enabling God’s light to shine through us to our world.

Sunday School
Our Sunday School program strives to provide a strong Christian foundation of scripturally based curriculum for your children. We have a dedicated team of gifted teachers who create a loving and caring atmosphere for your children. Please join us as we learn to be disciples of Jesus Christ together as a church family.
Sunday School is held during the 10:30 worship service. Children attend the beginning of the service and then leave with a leader for their own classes. On the first Sunday of each month, children return to the sanctuary to participate in communion.

Vacation Bible School
Each summer Santa Clara UMC hosts Vacation Bible School. The program is for children through middle school ages, and older teens are encouraged to help the adult leaders.
The 2002 VBS was held in August with the theme “SonCanyon River Adventure.” Over the 4 days, kids learned from Bible stories about Solomon, Saul, David, and Peter that it is important to Follow God’s Instructions, Choose Friends Wisely, Make Peace, and Trust Jesus. Along with Bible lessons there were recreation activities, songs, snacks, and crafts.
Both children and adults had a great time and we ended with an
All Church BBQ!
