First United Methodist Church Staff |
| The
members of the congregation are the ministers of this church. We
welcome you to become acquainted, and to discover your own ministry! Rev. Myrna Bernadel-Huey contact I was born in Haiti; raised in the Philadelphia suburb of Wayne, PA; received a BA in Psychology from Dickinson College, in Carlisle, PA; received my Master of Divinity (M.Div.) from Boston University, concentrating my studies in Pastoral Counseling, and Social Ethics; and completed a Post-Graduate Training Program in Pastoral Counseling from the Samaritan Counseling Center in Portland, OR. Most recently, I completed the Clinical Pastoral Education program at the John Muir - Mt. Diablo Medical Center (now John Muir Health). My husband and I have a soon-to-be 13 yr. old and a 18 yr. old. For self care, I receive Rosen Body Work and enjoy a regular Curves workout to invigorate my body, mind, and spirit! Beth Crawford contact In my looong and varied career, I have been (among other things) an accounting clerk, an Administrative Secretary, an Office Manager with a staff of five, the editor of a state-wide trade magazine, an AVP in the IT division of a bank, with a staff of 33. I have been laid off because of downturns in the economy and because the jobs of those working for me were "outsourced". I've lost money in the dot-com crisis and in the current economic "downturn". I work because I need the money, but also because, while I have hobbies and other interests, I like to keep busy and keep my brain active. Amy Moore contact Amy was born and raised in southeastern Virginia. She attended Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, TN and continued her education at Wake Forest University School of Divinity in Winston-Salem, NC. While earning her Master of Divinity she met her now husband Stuart, a Ph.D. student at the GTU in Berkeley and her reason for moving to California. In her free time, Amy enjoys reading and staying connected with family and friends via Facebook. Stuart was born and raised in South Carolina. He has a B.A. in Religion and Christian Ministry from Anderson University, Anderson, SC; M.Div. from Wake Forest University School of Divinity, Winston-Salem, NC, where he met his bride Amy; and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Art and Religion at the Graduate Theological Union, Berkeley, CA. After graduation, he plans to teach at a college or seminary. He has always had a love for the church, a connection which bridges his personal spirituality and scholarship. Stuart has participated in mission trips across SC and to West Virginia, Connecticut, Florida, and Paris, France. Those expeditions coupled with an immersion in Romania and subsequently London, England, have fueled his passion for travel. In his spare time, he enjoys fictional literature and movies when not spending time with Amy. April McNeely contact Marcie Avalon ORGANIST This position is currently open Sylvie Tjiam Nancy Ratner Skinner contact Nancy is a professional dancer and during 2004 she went with her dance troupe to perform in Yugoslavia.
