Christian Education Classes for all ages

Sunday classes begin at 11:00 am and run September through May.


Children

"Exploring Our Faith" through stories, activities and music for age 3 through 5th grade.


Youth

A combined Bible study class for 6th–12th grade to help teenagers find ways to express their Christian faith in their school and family activities.

6th–12th graders also meet with Castro Valley Methodist Youth Fellowship (MYF) on Sundays from 12:00 pm–2:00 pm in Room #4 at Castro Valley UMC, 19806 Wisteria Avenue, Castro Valley, 94546.


Adults

Our classes examine the Christian life, understanding Jesus' ministry, a particular book of the Bible through video series, current events, and many other study books offered by The United Methodist Church. Adult classes normally run September through May.
Sunday classes begin at 11:00 am. Other classes are held at various times during the week.


Sunday Opportunities (beginning Sept. 13)
Bible 101: Introduction to the Old and New Testament (St. Francis Room)
Over the course of 11 weeks we will survey the Bible, including the content, context, and connections of every book. Whether you're a beginner or a veteran, this class will provide a solid foundation for future, more in-depth studies.

Sudan: A Mission Study (Jerusalem Room)
Sudan is the subject of this year's UMW Mission Study. Sudanese and many others around the world are hopeful that one day peace and reconciliation will be a reality in this war torn nation.
In this class, we will bring to light the history and culture of Sudan, the suffering in Darfur, and plight of Sudanese children. Also, how The Sudan Project, a partnership between Ginghamsburg UMC and UMCOR, has raised over $1.6 million since 2004, and what they have been able to accomplish.
The children's ministry will be learning about Sudanese children and their culture also on Sundays.
