125th Anniversary Celebration Events

April 10, 2005

Heritage Sunday will be celebrated on this date in honor of our long-time member's faithfulness to Emmanuel. The event will begin at 9:30 a.m. and be followed by a brunch at the church. Don Barb, pastor at Olpe and former pastor at Emmanuel, will be the guest speaker.

July 30, 2005

Our 125th Germany Picnic will be held on this date on the lawn of the church. The usual menu of hamburgers, pie, and ice cream will be offered for sale to the public. We will recognize all former pastors and district superintendants who are present during the program and will also have a 125 year history book for sale at that time. We cordially invite any and all pastors or district superintendants to stay over Saturday evening and to participate in reminiscing at the Sunday morning worship service. We would gladly find a host family for you to stay with Saturday night.

September 25, 2005

A rededication of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church building is scheduled for this date. Nancy Gammill, District Superintendant, will officiate at this ceremony during the worship hour beginning at 9:30 a.m. This event is being held on the same weekend as Alta Vista's Old Settler's Day and the Alta Vista Alumni Banquet, which are on Saturday, September 24.
