| Alta Vista is a small rural town, population 425, located in east central Kansas. With regard to larger cities in the area, it is 27 miles south of Manhattan, 63 miles northwest of Emporia, and 65 miles southwest of Topeka. Simpson United Methodist Church is located at 508 Logan Street in Alta Vista while Emmanuel United Methodist Church is located 10 miles southeast of Alta Vista in rural Wabaunsee County at the intersection of Germany Road and South Pole Road.
