2. Campus Crusade for Christ (Campus Ministry)
The campus ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ is a network of vibrant, growing movements on 1,029 campuses in the United States and beyond. Proven and diverse outreach strategies expose millions of students to the gospel each year. Over the past five years, more than 37,900 students made a decision to become a Christian. The college campus provides a pool of worldviews that leave many students actively searching for some absolute truth. This generation was raised in a society where situational ethics and relative morality have softened the spiritual foundation that was secure for past generations. Today's students are eagerly seeking genuine spiritual truth. Once they embrace a faith in Christ, they are burdened to share that hope with others in creative and relevant ways. The mission of Campus Crusade for Christ is to turn lost students into Christ-centered laborers.

3. Operation Christmas Child (Shoe Boxes)
This project provides Christmas gifts (in wrapped shoe boxes) to children who, otherwise would have nothing, but, in addition to the shoe box, the children also receive the good news about Jesus and salvation. The shoe boxes are the first link many of these children have to God's love. Shoe boxes are filled with all the things children enjoy — stuffed animals, toys, candies, games, balls, watches, and school supplies, as well as much needed hygiene items. Boxes are filled for boys and girls from three age levels, 2-4 years old, 5-9 years old, or 10-14 years old. Operation Christmas Child is operated nationally by Samaritan's Purse in Boone, North Carolina, of which Franklin Graham is the President.
In November, Salem supports the $7.00 per box shipping cost.

4. Salem Mission & Outreach
This project supports financial needs of families primarily within, but not restricted to, the local area. A small amount of emergency funds can be provided when approved by the pastor, outreach chairperson, administrative council chairperson, and the treasurer. Larger amounts must be approved by the administrative council. At Easter and Christmas, fruit baskets and food boxes are prepared and distributed to the community. The Lenten offering is used to purchase food for Salem's food pantry.
Salem supports this project at Easter, Christmas, and as needs arise.

9. Potato Project - Society of St. Andrew, Big Island, VA
Tractor-trailer loads of potatoes and other produce are often rejected by commercial markets or potato chip factories due to slight imperfections in size, shape, sugar content, or surface blemishes. Usually, these rejected loads end up at local land fills. Through the Potato Project, however, the Society of St. Andrew is able to redirect these 45,000-pound loads of fresh, nutritious produce to soup kitchens, Native American reservations, food pantries, low income housing areas, local churches, and other hunger agencies for distribution to the poor. Since this produce is donated, the Society of St. Andrew only pays for the transportation and packaging of the food, that means food is provided to the nation’s hungry for about a penny per serving!
