Come Grow With Us

Salem United Methodist Church in Wolfsville is a growing and serving church nestled between two mountains among the beautiful foothills of Frederick County, Maryland.

To the west stands South Mountain, a bluish-green ridge running north and south as far as the eye can see. To the east is the equally beautiful ridge of Catoctin Mountain; while to the north and south the sky closes down upon hilltops patched with wheat fields and fringed by forests.

Salem members and friends enjoy the beautiful drive to church from many parts of Frederick County and neighboring Washington County, seeing the fertile beauty of farmer's fields and woodlands.

At Salem, our hearts' desire is to see men, women, and children come into a personal relationship with God through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. But that's only where it begins! Growing in that relationship with the Lord and developing friendships within the church are exciting parts of the journey.

We'd love the opportunity to meet you and invite you to join us for any of our worship services, Sunday School classes, and various events throughout the week. Bible study, worship, and fellowship are regular components of church life at Salem. So, we invite you to become a part of our growing congregation, and share with us the joy of serving the Lord in this place.

What We Believe

GOD is the creator and ruler of the universe. THE BIBLE is God's Word to us. JESUS CHRIST is the son of God. THE HOLY SPIRIT is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. SALVATION is God's free gift to us, but we must accept it. People were created to exist forever in ETERNITY, either in union with God in heaven or separated from God in Hell. Learn more

Mission Statement

The mission of Salem United Methodist Church is to be an active, committed, and friendly voice for Jesus Christ in the Wolfsville community, ministering to our world through foreign missions; our nation through supporting a variety of ministries emphasizing both spiritual and physical needs; our community through personal and organizational outreach and evangelism; and our members by providing a nurturing and caring environment based on worship and family-oriented education. As a church, we cannot be complacent. We must revitalize our efforts in attracting and retaining new members, and building the commitment of existing members to the cause of Christ and the growth of Salem Church, by providing meaningful and attractive worship and activities. The participation of every individual associated with Salem Church is essential in order to fulfill this mission and goals.
