Haiti: Challenges and Hope
The
“Haiti” study invites participants to reflect on how the
church can be in mission with the people of Haiti
rather than in mission to them. It offers
perspectives on the history of the land and its people,
Haiti’s theological history and the need for a clear and
vibrant theology of liberation, the impact of the
devastating earthquake of January 12, 2010, and Haiti’s
challenges, hopes and dreams. It also explores ways in
which The United Methodist Church is already working with
The Methodist Church in Haiti.

Joy
to the World: Mission in the Age of Global Christianity
The
purpose of this study is to explore the theology of mission
and evangelism in the twenty-first century context of
Christianity as a worldwide religion. Christianity is now
the largest world religion but the population, mission
structure and women’s mission work is changing. It studies
several contemporary models of world mission – hospitality,
healing and reconciliation which are all ways of celebration
God’s intention to bring hope and wholeness to the world
through Jesus Christ.
