5-Star Unit or 5-Star Woman

Any Unit or any Woman who contributes to each one of the five Channels of Undesignated Giving is eligible to receive recognition as a 5-Star Unit / 5-Star Woman.

This recognition is done at the SWTC UMW Annual Meeting in October. The reporting is done through the Local Treasurer to the District Treasurer to the Conference Treasurer.

SPECIAL MISSION RECOGNITION

A special Mission Recognition is an undesignated gift for mission work through the Women’s Division in honor of the recipient. A pin with a certificate may be obtained to honor any woman or man that meets the criteria designated by the local group or individual. The basic $40 gift is a small gold oval lapel pin with a cross and a white certificate. The recognition ranges in donation from $40 - $1,000 with the pins and certificates differing at each level.
 

A Gift to Mission is a way to honor someone with an undesignated gift in her or his name of at least $5.00.  These funds support the total program of mission carried out through the Women's Division of the General Board of Global Ministries.  A Gift to Mission is a way of commemorating a variety of special occasions or events, including honoring a special speaker. 

A Gift in Memory through UMW honors the memory of a much-loved family member or friend.  It honors a life of service through making possible additional mission work in the U.S. and around the world.  The cards are filled in by the purchaser and sent to the family of the deceased person.  Each card includes instructions for remitting the desired dollar amount through the channels of UMW.

WORLD THANK OFFERING

"Thanks be to God for his gift beyond words!" These gifts are usually collected during a special service or program by the unit and are sent by the local unit treasurer of UMW to the district treasurer.
