Sermon Title: The Breath of New Life
Scripture Lessons: Psalm 150, Revelation 1:4-8, St. John 20:19-31
Summary: When the risen Christ breathes on his disciples and says, "Receive the Holy Spirit," he expresses deep friendship. Bathing them in his Holy Breath, he releases them from the darkness of isolation and egocentricity, and sends them out to bring men and women to the moment of decision in regard to himself, our light and life. The risen Christ has commissioned his Church to touch God's forgiveness of sins and friendship to people everywhere. Discipleship is being in solidarity with our Lord in the world's redemption. We continue his life-giving work of love.
