Secretary/Treasurer Report

 

Date:  21 October 2008    Place:  Ladies Parlor, (Chapel) and Fellowship Hall

 

Attendees: (16)  Linda Allen, Lorraine Allen, Faith Berg, Ruth Colburn, Betty Corey, Debbie Estey,  Beth Fernandes, June Fredette, Betty Gagnon, Celestine Hall, Marj Hodgson,  Elaine Proctor,  Jan Sodergren, Sue Smith, Charlotte Steele, Gwen White.  We don’t let a rainy day stop us!

 

Celestine opened the meeting with a prayer.

 

Devotions:  Elaine read from 1 Corinthians 16, 23-27, and from a daily read book.   

 

Sunshine Fund:  $19.62.  We signed cards to Bob Donahue and wife who are in poor health, (Sue Smith helps all she can), and Sharon Crosby and Helen Stevens.  Helen was a good member for many years, but is now at Haven Health Ctr.

 

Secretary’s Report:  Sept 16  meeting report was read and accepted, and copies were given out.  The treasury page was passed around to look at.  Celestine asked that we fill out the Hostess list for calendar year 2009, which we did, but of course changes will be made when necessary.

 

Announcements:    

Ruth Colburn, our key woman to Church Women United announced that Church Women United will meet again Fri, Nov 7 at 1 PM, at the Lutheran Church (Good Shepherd) with the topic “God’s Wisdom Sets Us Free”.   On Saturday, October 18th  was a statewide meeting at Good Shepherd Church for the 60th anniversary. It was attended by 32 people.  Charlotte related some of the meeting.  Pat Tucker was reinstated as State President.  Next meeting will be in two years.

 

Program for today:   Ruth‘s subject was “What If You Could See God?”

We closed with the Lord’s Prayer.

 

Faith asked if we chose to continue meeting in the Parlor of the Chapel, where the pellet stove makes it nice and warm.  We all agreed and were very comfortable as there is more seating room there also.

 

Adjourned: 

at about 2:45 PM for cupcakes, cookies, cider and hot drinks by Sue and Faith.
