United Methodist Women

Our Purpose:

The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

The UMW meet monthly for fellowship, personal and Christ education, and devotions. This group focuses on supporting local missions and organizes independent fund-raisers to provide that support.

2009 UMW Program Planner

This will be the UMW’s preliminary program plan for 2009. We have a variety of exciting opportunities for education, fellowship, and service. All women of the church are welcome!

Kits for Conference
Round Hill United Methodist Women are preparing health kits to help replenish UMCOR’s supply of most-requested items. Each week between now and June 14th, which is the deadline to deliver Kits at Annual Conference, we will concentrate on collecting a small piece of each Kit. Please help get the kits started by donating this week’s featured items:
New Hand Towel and
Washcloth (not kitchen towels)
A marked collection box will be in the Fellowship Hall for drop-off of the hand towels and washcloths during the next week or so. The more kits we can get started early in the collection, the better our opportunity to provide more fully finished Kits at Annual Conference. Please help set this first goal high! You can call Dee Jones at 540-955-4673 for more information.
Contents of Each Kit:
  • New Hand Towel and Washcloth
  • Comb
  • Metal Nail File or Fingernail Clippers
  • Bath Soap
  • Toothbrush
  • Band-Aids
The items for each assembled Kit will be sealed in a zipper-style plastic bag along with a $1 donation per bag for UMCOR’s purchase of toothpaste and another $1 donation per bag for shipping. The 2009 session of the Virginia Annual Conference will be held June 14-17 at the Scope in Norfolk
Thank you for your help in helping others!

Contact Cheryl Caldwell, Jane Ford, or Ellen Austin if you have any questions, or ideas for other programs!
