Feeding the Hungry

- via the Table

A group of RHUMC members prepared dinner at a Leesburg site for people in need. Daily Bread, sponsored by Interfaith Council, served an average of 60-65 people who are fed at each meal.

We have prepared food/meals and gathered clothing for the homeless in Washington DC This ministry has involved the youth and adults of our congregation. Upon returning to our church we often had a time of worship where we prayed for those whom we served and for the persons whose names were gathered on the trip.

- via the Closet

Western Loudoun churches together supplied the local Food Closet, which was located at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Purcellville. Canned and nonperishable food items are donated by the congregation and are available to local people in need. RHUMC children have participated by decorating grocery bags for members of the congregation to fill and return the following Sunday. (Contact: Elizabeth Ford) We now supply food from our location for the needy.

- via Hand to Hand

Youth and adults gather after church Worship and pack food into our bus. It and they are transported to Washington where they feed the homeless hand to hand.

Clothing is received weekly from congregants. The items are prepared. Then handed out during the feeding of the homeless.

Blankets, coats, gloves, scarves, socks, etc. are also offered to the homeless we serve.

Fellowship

Music

RHUMC is blessed with fine musical talent! The choir meets for practice on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 and provides music for the 11:00 AM service. Various individuals in the congregation, including our youth, provide vocal and instrumental offerings during our services.

RHUMC has two praise bands. Our Youth Praise Band leads music for worship occasionally. Our Adult Praise Band leads the music for the 8:30 Sunday Worship weekly. The Adult Praise Band practices on Thursday evenings at 7:00. This group is always looking for talented people to come make a beautiful noise for the Lord.

Senior Trips

Our Senior Citizens Group is called the Wholly Spirits. They organize a trip a month throughout the year. The Wholly Spirits also are paired up with children (Wholly Sprouts) to mentor. We are proud of the ministries our Holy Spirits bring to our local community.

Sunday Fiestas and Last Sunday Dinners

During the Summer months the family of Round Hill United Methodist Church gathers in different congregants back yard each Sunday for a Fiesta. Each brings a covered-dish, meat to grill, lawn chairs and a smile. These have proven to be great times for children to play and adults to get to know each other.

During the Fall, Winter and Spring months we gather the Last Sunday of each month for Dinner, conversation and games. Again each participant is asked to bring a covered dish and a warm disposition. The youth go to the Education Annex for a time for games after dinner.
