How are Traffic and Parking being addressed? There will be 111 parking spaces, accommodating the largest events that can be held in the new Fellowship Center (using an average of approx. 2.7 persons per car). Traffic will be using both Church St. and Locust St. The flow will be as efficient as possible. The parking lot is to be landscaped with trees and shrubs. “Low level ground lighting” will be used. The design will be aesthetically pleasing and considerate of our neighbors.
When will construction begin and end?Construction can begin 9 months after the approval from the Town of Round Hill. It is estimated to take about 18 months. We hope for a spring of ’06 start.
What approvals are still necessary? The project must be approved by the Town of Round Hill. We will work closely with the town’s leadership to do everything we can to meet the community’s needs and the needs of our growing church. Other approvals needed include final church membership and the church’s district governance organization.
What is to be built? What are the architectural specifics? The facilities will be built in two phases. The entire facility will be 14,000 sq ft (usable area), in mainly two stories. For comparison the Round Hill Fire Station is approximately 11,000 sq ft. The facility’s highest point is below that of the Patterson building, Wisteria Inn and other neighboring buildings. Phase 1 will contain the Fellowship Center portion to include the kitchen and classrooms. All site work, parking & landscaping, will be completed with Phase 1. This facility was designed to harmonize with the typical architecture and charm of Round Hill and is within all Loudoun County/Round Hill ordinances. Materials will compliment our sanctuary in color, siding, roofing as well as repeating its key architectural features such as arched windows.
Have the environmental impacts been considered? The most significant environmental factor is storm water management (SWM). Our plan fulfills all local and state requirements and is consistent with the town’s SWM Master Plan. The SWM project, funded entirely by the church, solves a long standing SWM problem in the NW quadrant of Round Hill.
How will this benefit Round Hill and will the hours of use be regulated? In addition to providing improved fellowship facilities, the Fellowship Center will be available for use by community groups and will provide an alternative for a community meeting facility for Round Hill and Western Loudoun County. The facility could be used for wedding receptions, Loudoun County arts performances, children and young peoples’ organizations, business meetings, or other activities. The hours of use will be controlled by the church with respect for the needs of the surrounding community.
