Thanksgiving Eve Worship Service Thanksgiving Eve, November 25 a worship service will be held 7:30 P.M. in the sanctuary. Join us as we give thanks for the many blessings God has given to us.
Operation Christmas Child This year we are once again participating in Operation Christmas Child, an outreach program of Samaritan's Purse. This involves filling a shoe box with small gift items and school supplies for an underprivileged child in a Third World country. Details and labels are available in brochures at the church and also online at www.samaritanspurse.org. Do not wrap the entire box; however, the box and top can be wrapped separately. The shoe boxes must be at the church by Nov. 15.
Christmas Cantata The Rodes UMC choir is hard at work preparing for their Christmas Cantata "Christmas Mosaic" by Marty Parks. The cantata will be presented during the morning worship on Sunday, December 20th at 10:45am. An encore performance will be presented on Sunday evening, December 27th at 6:00pm. Make plans to join us!
Appreciation Thank you for your support of the ministries of Rodes United Methodist Church. Thank you for your time and finances to the Lord's Acre Sale. Many of you worked hard that day and the days leading up to the sale. Through your giving of your time, energy, and finances, the good news of Jesus has been proclaimed, people have been helped, a building has been provided for people to worship in and learn. |

Missionary Support : Clara Biswas Clara Mridula Biswas is assigned as a community worker in Cambodia. She works to improve the lives of impoverished children in Phnom Penh, many of whom are homeless and live in the streets. Clara is ministering in a place that most of us will never travel to and ministering to a people we will probably never personally minister to. Clara was chosen by the Rodes United Methodist Men to be supported financially. The goal is to raise $1050 per year. Special offering envelopes are available in the vestibule of the church building or your can send your gifts to 8472 Rockfish Valley Highway, Afton, VA 22920. Please make your checks to the United Methodist Men and mark your gift "for missionary support." Thank you for your support of Clara through your prayers and finances. |
