Half-Time for Men
Half way through each week, on Wednesday at half past six in the morning, men are gathering for one hour: to come before God together, to eat together; to share in spiritual growth. Halftime meets at Coco's on Superstition Springs and Power Road. In mid-September the group will begin a different study: Confronting the Controversies: A Christian Looks at Tough Issues. Using a book of that title by Adam Hamilton, we will explore some of the more difficult issues of our time, issues that are in the news frequently, issues that may make us uncomfortable: The Death Penalty, Separation of Church and State, Creationism in the Public Schools, Abortion, Homosexuality. The purpose of the study is to see the way Christians can discuss, even differ on controversial issues while respecting each other. We likely will not all come out at the same place on these issues, but we will have a good time doing so. We welcome newcomers to the Breakfast. For information and to order a book, call the Church Office (981-3833).
