Witness

I accepted Jesus when I was 12 years old and pledged to serve Him in the future by being a nurse. Now, as a retired nurse, I realize that my profession gave me many opportunities to serve others and to be thankful for my many blessings. As I cared for patients, families, and nursing students throughout the years, I saw what a difference believing in God made to their lives and mine.
Today I continue to pray, study and try to serve others. I think that my best early role was to be a wife and mother of three children. I truly believe that a Christian home makes a huge difference in the family and society.
Our church mission is that Christianity is our profession. I try to learn, love and live by serving others. My family, friends and my church family support my faith. After taking a second spiritual gifts course, I learned my gifts from God had changed. I pray and try now to use my gifts of leadership and confronting issues appropriately. Interacting with other Christians is a blessing. I am grateful for the many good role models in my life - from childhood to today. As a volunteer in the Christian adult growth ministry at the church, I try to listen, learn, care and support adults of all ages. This is challenging since today change is a huge part of our world.
As my relationship with Jesus deepens, I realize even more the need for quiet times to pray, listen and be guided. Sometimes, I feel the Holy Spirit is directing my actions, yet at other times, I realize I need to listen and follow more. I am again reading and studying more from the Bible and in interacting with other Christians. These actions help me as I walk with Christ. Thank you, Jesus.
