Renton First United Methodist Church

Sunday School

Sunday School classes are offered for all age groups. In addition to children's Sunday School classes, Renton First United Methodist Church offers several adult classes. Sunday School is held Sunday mornings from 9:20 - 10:20 am (September - May only).

  • Children's classes: For children age 4 to 12, classes cover Bible stories and lessons on Christ's love and guidance. Classes are a lot of fun for kids and include crafts and activities. Third graders are given their own Bible to begin self-directed Bible study as well as teacher led discussions.
  • Youth classes: Junior and Senior High Youth learn to apply the lessons of the Bible to their lives. Emphasis is on fellowship, and exploring ways to share Jesus' love and the gospel with friends.
  • Adult classes: Adults are encouraged to continue their faith development and understanding of Biblical truths. Several classes are offered. We offer a Christian Forum where social and faith issues are explored.
  • Christian Forum: Adult gathering during Sunday school time to discuss current events, political, economic, and social issues that affect our faith.
  • Kid's Corner: During the Sunday service, after the children's worship time, children age four to six can go to the Bible Zone to hear stories and play while their parents enjoy the rest of the worship service.

Bible Study Groups

The Bible can be hard to interpret and apply to the modern world, yet we continue to strive to seek God's direction in our lives. Studying scriptures in a group gives people the opportunity to discuss the meaning of God's word and to share ideas on living out the gospel.

  • Lent Study: Each Lent season, members open their homes to host special study groups to share and learn about the life and teaching's of Jesus. Groups are led by peers who have gone through facilitation training.
