"If we Christians are to build the Kingdom of God on earth, then surely we must begin by removing the barriers of history, culture, language, and misunderstanding that separate us from each other on Sunday mornings. Participating in Reconciliation UMC has made our Christian walk a little more faithful to that vision, and has greatly enriched our lives in the process."

"As an interracial couple we quickly discovered the failings of traditional, segregated worship. Reconciliation not only acknowledges and accepts different cultural traditions, it seeks them out, celebrates them, and weaves them together to create a worship experience that speaks to all of God's children."

We were drawn to Reconciliation United Methodist because the church was seriously committed to a program of multicultural worship. Emily, recently commented, "I look around at the people in our congregation on Sunday morning and know that this is what heaven will be like."

"Reconciliation is just what I had been looking and praying for. I've met so many wonderful people who truly believe and live out our church's mission everyday. I am very thankful for this wonderful blessing and look forward to sharing it with others."

I grew up during the Depression
when segregation was a way of life. Schools, churches, and all facilities were separated for the three races: blacks, whites, and Indians. I always felt that churches were not what the Lord had intended for them to be. I began attending Reconciliation UMC very soon after it was organized. The first visit that I made to the services there, I knew that I had found what I had been searching for all of my life. It seemed so right to go into a church service and see people of all races and backgrounds worshipping together. I felt the love, warmth, acceptance, and friendliness that were lacking in other churches. I could truly feel the presence of God in this place.
