Worship and Devotion at Reconciliation
My favorite part of Church is Sunday School because it helps me understand what we will talk about in Church.

The Church is not a brick building or a magnificent edifice. It is the people
of God wherever two or three are gathered in the name of Jesus. Services at Reconciliation
are celebrations of praise, prayer, and challenge.
Our worship is participatory and vibrant. We exchange greetings with warmth and
sincerity, pray for one another's joys and concerns, and listen together for God's word of
reconciliation and justice.
Our worship is celebratory and joyous.
Rousing contemporary gathering music gives way to a Latino greeting song followed by a
traditional hymn or a foot tapping, hand clapping gospel favorite.
Worship is a shared space where people are invited to bring their gifts and to experience the gifts
of others; a place where differences are celebrated and our unity is enhanced. Most find something
both familiar and new - something that stretches their experience and imagination. All will find a
place that celebrates diversity. All will feel the embrace of God's love.

My wife and I attended the very first service of the newly formed Reconciliation UMC. We both came away very inspired, conversing with each other, "This is it!" After more than five years of participating in various aspects of the church, we still feel that "this is it!" God intended for us to worship, live, work, and play together regardless of our cultural, racial, or gender differences. There is no better way to expand this philosophy than by practicing it and continuing to support this multicultural ministry. Our dream is that this love and understanding of each other can spread throughout the world.
