North End Interfaith Community's Potluck dinner for the residents of the Sand Point Community Housing Association
Potluck Meal
Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at 6 PM
North End Interfaith Community is hosting a potluck dinner for the residents of the Sand Point Community Housing Association  in the Sand Point Housing Community Room, 6940 62nd Ave. NE, Seattle, WA 98115.

Participants in this year's event besides RUMC are Assumption Catholic Church, Sand Point Community UMC, St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Congregation Beth Shalom, St. Bridget Catholic Church, Maple Leaf Lutheran Church, Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Temple Beth Am, Wedgwood Community Church, Wedgwood Presbyterian Church, University Congregational Church, Faith Lutheran Church, and Idriss Mosque.

RUMC has been asked to bring soft drinks or juice. It should be a fine event and show of support. Please join us. For more details,

Transgender Day of Remembrance

The Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) is a candlelight vigil remembering those victims of violence who have died in the past year due to anti-transgender hatred or prejudice, combined with a service of worship and song addressing the role of transgendered people of faith in the life and future of the church. 


This years event features Peterson Toscano*
in an updated version with specially crafted segments for Seattle Transgender Day of Remembrance. If you saw it last year, you will find that this presentation goes farther and deeper as it brings in the stories and lives of people in the Seattle area. For more details, click here.

North End Interfaith Community's 2009 Interfaith Thanksgiving Eve Service Interfaith Thanksgiving Service

Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at 7 PM

North End Interfaith Community's 2009 Interfaith Thanksgiving Eve Service will be held at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 4900 NE 50th St., Seattle. The congregations mentioned in two sections above along with Lake City Christian Church and Pastoral and Spiritual Care, Children's Hospital are  sponsoring this event. Please bring a dessert for the reception that follows the formal service. Gifts of blankets or warm gloves will go to the homeless. Monetary gifts and gifts of non-perishable food will go to the University District Food Bank. Please join us. From Hiroshima to Hope - 6:30 pm to dusk at Green Lake

NW Shore of Green Lake, Seattle, WA. South of the Seattle Public Theater (aka Bathhouse Theater)

A program & lantern floating ceremony in remembrance of the victims of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima & Nagasaki, and victims of war & other violence.

Organized by a coalition of peace, religious, civil liberties and cultural heritage organizations.

Co-sponsor: Washington Physicians for Social Responsibility. WPSR engages the community to create a healthy, peaceful and sustainable world.

Shannon Buzard and her two boys, Matt (who just turned 10) and Kevin, will be hosting this month's meal at their home in Shoreline (19137 15th Ave. NW) near Richmond Beach. The boys have requested BBQ ribs, so please bring a side dish and a hearty appetite. Directions are available at the church or join our carpool leaving from the church's parking lot at 6:30 PM.

Seattle PrideFest Ad

Seattle PrideFest 2008 at the Seattle Center

Ravenna UMC, together with Kent UMC and Bear Creek UMC, will be sponsoring two tables at Fisher Pavilion at the Seattle Center. Tibbetts UMC, West Seattle, will also be joining us. Come out and support all our efforts under the rainbow of  faith, diversity, unity and pride.

The Seattle Pride Parade, running downtown Seattle along 4th Ave., begins at 11:00 AM.

Throughout Lent, we, together with our friends from St. Ignatius Catholic Community ECC, will journey through the Book of Genesis. This week focuses on chapters 12 - 25 of Genesis. Please have these chapters read. You will never look at this book in the same way again. This is Sunday School for the thinking adult!
