Local Church History:
In the latter part of the
19th century, Methodists first met in homes in the
area. Later they met in a log house built on
property donated to the church on the corner of "B"
Street and 3rd. The log church building also
doubled as a school. After 1897 the Methodists
shared a new church build by the Congregational
Church. In 1902, starting with a donation of $50
from the Ladies Aid, the present parsonage was
built. Three years later under Pastor H. S. Kemp
the church at the present location was constructed.
The church has continued through its 100 years of
history to be center for worship, Christian education, fellowship, and service.
