Text Box:

The Colégio do Quéssua was initially built in 1960 by the United Methodist Church to provide advanced education to boys and girls in the Angola Conference—the only United Methodist Conference in Angola at that time.  The Colégio do Quéssua under the leadership of Rev. Edwin E. LeMaster prepared many of today's church leaders, private businessmen and government officials that are now holding important posts in Angola.

During the colonial and civil wars, the Colégio do Quéssua was closed. Successful efforts to raise money to rebuild Quéssua Mission by the United Methodist Churches in the U.S. led to its reconstruction. Rebuilding of the Colégio was completed in 2007 just in time for 175 students to begin the new school year.  What a blessing!

The continuation of the Colégio do Quéssua will indeed provide a positive ministry to the youth of Angola.  Support is needed to provide for teachers, books, supplies, industrial training and equipment necessary to maintain a quality education.

Reconstruction of the Colégio do Quéssua was completed in time for the beginning of the 2007 school year.
