"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the breaking of bread and to prayer.   Everyone was filled with awe, and many miraculous signs were done by the apostles.   All the believers were together with everything in common, praising God and enjoying the favor of all people.  And they added to their number daily those who were being saved." Acts 2: 42-44, 47 NIV

Richard K. Avery and Donald S., composer of the words and music to their hymn, We are the Church, testify that the church is not a building, but the church is a people.  The words also remind us of the diversity of age, race, and gender within the church.  Verse three speaks profound words of wisdom as it acknowledges that through both celebration and tribulation there is learning.  We are encouraged to realize that the church, in a prayerful manner sings, laughs, and sometimes cries.

I thank God for the gifts of the Holy Spirit given in accordance to God's will to all who follow Jesus around the world.  Join me as I pray for each person that they will be grateful for the Church in Pahrump.  Join me as I pray for each person that they will have no greater desire than to follow Jesus and share the love of God with all who will hear it.  Amen!
