From the Pastor’s Pen

Dear Friends of Prospect:

May God’s love and delight surprise you through all the days of Lent as we seek his holy presence intentionally.

With everything that is happening in the world we can still see the evidence of God’s life on earth and his love.  Spiritual people are people of vision that can see further down the road and into the purposes of God.

God doesn’t intend for his creation and his children to lose the struggle for justice, righteousness, and peace.  The closer we move to the Holy Scriptures, during our morning prayers and meditations, the more hope we have as we pray through our reading of the newspaper headlines in the afternoon.  God’s mighty acts of salvation remind us; the story of life is not contained or edited on the six-o’clock news.  It is our story found through faith in action, as we work in the world to make sure God has his presence revealed, through our loving acts, for the benefit of others in God’s creation.

To see with the eyes of faith and to pray with the power of scriptures, held dear in our hearts, changes the people and the world around us.  Even how we drive down the streets and face difficulties on the road, with cooperation and confessions of error, bring witness to God’s powerful patience, through us, on the hectic road of life.

Let us each develop our faith, and in doing so, develop our strength and joy and courage, for a waiting and hungry world.

Let us be many blessings.  Amen!

Godspeed,
Rev. Dee Stevens
