PUMC Preschool
PUMC Preschool strives to provide an opportunity for children to enjoy age appropriate social and educational experiences under the caring guidance of qualified Christian teachers.
PUMC Program
Preschool is in session September through May. Classes are held Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 12:00 Noon; Tuesday through Thursday 12:30 - 3:30 pm
2 day classes for children who are 2 1/2 by September 30
2 or 3 day classes for children who are 3 by December 31
3 day classes for children who are 4 by December 31
4 and 5 day Pre-Kindergarten classes for children who are 4 by September 30
Class Schedule
Each day is designed to meet the developing needs of children ages 2 1/2 to 5.
Your preschoolers’ day will include:

Stories, finger plays, singing and sharing. |

Children choose activities such as puzzles, blocks, books, housekeeping, listening station, legos, sand/water/rice table or bike riding in the gym. |

With easel painting, markers, play dough, glue scissors and crayons. |
| Snack | * |
Snacks are brought from home and shared among the class. |
| Free Play Outdoors | * |
With equipment provided to promote coordination and physical development. |
Requirements for Admission
Immunization requirements are the same as for public schools
Children must be potty trained to enter our 4's program
Registration form and fee must be turned in and a certified copy of the child's birth certificate presented
Children are registered for the school year.
Withdrawal requires 30 days written notice.
Our staff and our facility exceed all of the licensing requirements of the State Social Services Department. The preschool is a ministry of Powhatan United Methodist Church and is governed by the Powhatan United Methodist Church Preschool Board. For more information contact Sharon Baltimore, Director.
