Pastor Karl Goodfellow has been pastoring the Preston/ Sabula United
Methodist Churches since July 1, 2001. He brings to his churches a
special interest about the importance of personal or corporate prayer.
Prayer is the way we connect with God releasing the spiritual power
to bring physical, emotional and spiritual healing. He is also active
in the local Preston/ Miles Ambulance Service, and is active in the
Miles/ Sabula Lions Club.
Pastor Karl is the founder of the Safety
Net Prayer Ministry. Since completing his Doctorate of Ministry at
Oral Roberts University his passion has been to create and implement
prayer programming that brings healing. In accomplishing this task
he has produced God's Harvest/ God's People for the last 9 years.
Through linking prayers and farm families together the Holy Spirit
has worked miracles, creating healing in farm communities who have
the courage to say that they care enough to pray.
Karl has traveled around speaking, praying
and working with other rural ministries in bringing equality, social
justices, and revival in rural America. He has served the Iowa Conference
on their Boards of Evangelism and Discipleship. Karl is a major contributor
to a book on Rural Spirituality Committee in conjunction with the
Center for Church, Land and People at Sinsinawa Mount in Wisconsin.
He recently presented a research paper
at a national conference titled 'The Clock is Ticking for Rural
America" sponsored by AgriWellness organization in Kansas
City Missouri. This paper, "Sociological Implication of Creating
a Prayer Support System for Farm Families", specifically
focuses on praying for farm families. The paper could have as easily
been written for children, the elderly, those with mental disorders
or substance abuse problems. Prayer Cares is a safe bridge to those
who are isolated from the support structure in the church. For information
