United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF)

Pleasant View United Methodist Church has two youth groups: MJF (Methodist Junior Fellowship) for kids 6th grade and younger, and MYF (Methodist Youth Fellowship) for young people 7th grade and older. These groups are open to all and free. Each week on Sunday evening the youth meet together for a time of recreation and dinner together. They then split into MYF and MJF for Bible Study.

In addition to the weekly meetings, UMYF members enjoy fellowship with each other on recreational outings such as camping, bowling, rappelling, and rafting. They also have an annual Youth Retreat at locations such as Lake Shore Retreat Center, Cedar Crest Camp, and Gatlinburg. To cover their expenses the group holds fundraisers such as bake sales and a Valentines Dinner. This allows everyone to participate in the trips without having to worry about the cost.
UMYF members have carried out a number of service projects, including building a porch for an elderly member of the community, building a handicapped ramp, sending letters to servicemen and cards to shut-ins, and sponsoring "Christmas Angels". They also have attended a teen youth rally (Acquire the Fire).
