United Methodist Women (UMW)

UMW provides an opportunity for women to get together and to support the mission work of the United Methodist Church locally and around the world.  There are two groups.  One meets in the evening on 1st Thursday every month at 7 P.M.  The day group meets on the 3rd Wednesday every month at 1 P.M. in Fellowship Hall.  At the meetings there are programs to raise awareness of what is happening in the missions of the United Methodist Church.  They raise money for missions such as the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) through their annual yard sale.  They also support UMCOR by making and collecting health kits. 

The UMW groups also support local missions by participating in Meals on Wheels and taking food to shut-ins.  They sponsor children at Christmas and support Miriam's Promise.  The group also was active in raising money to support the local church's mission trip to Red Bird Mission in eastern Kentucky.
