Text Box: Kid’s Club
In Kid's Club each Sunday night, 5-7p, we are involved in Jerusalem Marketplace Holyland Adventure. Through synagogue school, dramas, tribal time, crafts, games, and songs, we are learning about authentic Bible times culture and Jesus' walk to the cross. Kid's Club is for age 4 through 5th grade. 3-year olds are welcome to come with an accompanying adult.
On Wednesday nights, we are continuing our Discovery Club Adventures with God series, where the kid's earn Bible & Skill Awards in the form of patches. (This is similar to an Awana program.)
Our 3 & 4 year old children's church (11:00am service) is growing. Children are ready for this group if they turn three by Sept. 1. If their birthday is after Sept. 1, they should remain in the nursery until promotion Sunday in August. This helps keep the 3 & 4-year old group manageable and age-appropriate for the activities planned for them. Once a child begins Kindergarten, they will be in the K-5 - 3rd grade children's church. We, the children's ministry staff, want to be sensitive to each family's needs, so we do realize there may be exceptions. Please don't hesitate to come to me (Tonya Koll) with any of your concerns.
Thanks to those who have responded to the need for cabinets/shelves for my office/storage room! I really love this church family that is always willing to help when and where needed!
Tonya Koll

Text Box: Hurricane Katrina Mission Trip February 2008
I want to thank those that went on this trip for their work and putting up with me and my sometimes demanding schedule. Be sure and thank the following for volunteering: Jack Perez, Ernette Calhoun, Matt Rockfold, Lynn Griffin, Troy Burnett, Alan Head, Judy Fillebaum and Garry Hewitt. We left the church Thursday and drove to Heritage UMC in D’Iberville, Ms. where we settled in to a great dormitory that was build by the Indiana UMC conference.
Friday morning began with finding out our job assignment for the weekend. God works in such wonderful ways in matching our teams with the persons that need our help. We originally were told we would be hanging sheetrock, laying floor tile and laying ceramic tile but that did not work out. The next person they tried to match us up to did not work out and we finally where assigned to hang sheetrock for Ms. Helena. What a blessing it was for us to help such a wonderful lady. She had already been through the trails of rebuilding once with Hurricane Camille in 1969 and now she has to deal with rebuilding again after Hurricane Katrina. She presently is living in a MEMA trailer next to her home that she is rebuilding and looks forward to time when she can move back into her house. Our team was able to get her one step closer to this goal by hanging the last of the sheetrock. We managed to hang approximately 40 sheets of sheetrock so I can tell you that we all have sore arms and legs from all the work. Special thanks goes out to Ms. Judy and Ms. Ernette who mudded those holes on Friday and on Saturday they volunteered to clean the dormitory and cooked a wonderful lunch for us.
The next trip is scheduled to leave PHUMC Thursday, April 17th at approximately 4 PM and again will be to Heritage UMC in D’Iberville, Ms. We will work Friday, April 18th and Saturday, April 19th. We will return the night of Saturday, April 19th. I have listed painting as our main skill so all the ladies that have asked for that special trip, this may be the one for you.
Contact John Fillebaum to sign up or for more information. email jfillebaum@jwrinc.com
