working with your children.

Children/Youth
Sunday School Classes
The
Nursery includes children from birth to two
years of age. This is a child's first involvement
in the church. We provide a loving atmosphere of
playing and sharing for children in this group.
The
Three Year Old class is a child's first structured
Sunday School Class. Since the attention span of
a 3-year old is short, the time is divided into
20- minute segments--playing, structured activities,
Bible stories and devotions.
The
Four Year Old class is well equipped with
toys, books and puzzles. The literature teaches
them about Jesus by using leaflets and activities.
We worship God through loving and sharing.
The
Five Year Old class of Kindergartners concentrates
on turning the child's attention to reverencing
God and the church. They work towards speaking to
God with sentence prayers. Teachers are rewarded
with this group by watching them mature.
The
First Grade class learns how important it
is to become a part of God's family--by reading
lessons as a group which allows them to become familiar
with terms used in the Bible. They visit various
areas of the church to become familiar with our
"Father's House."
The
Second Grade class uses their Bibles to do
crossword puzzles so they may learn more about Jesus.
They enjoy singing and fellowship as they learn
more about God's love.
The
Third Grade class receives their own Bible
in September with each name imprinted on the front.
They learn to use it and begin memorizing books
of the Bible.
The
Fourth Grade class emphasizes using passages
read from the student's Bible. The class enjoys
Christian fellowship outings throughout the year.
The
Fifth and Sixth Grade class have Bible drills
to see who can find Bible verses the fastest. The
focus is on living a Christian life and doing for
others. They make frequent outings to visit others
in need. The sixth graders go through a Confirmation
Class where they learn the fundamentals of Methodism.
When this is completed, they are then accepted into
church membership.
Each
class has a focus depending on the age of the child.
Generally the focus is on Christian love, fellowship
and the importance of being a part of God's family.
Attendance is emphasized so the most knowledge may
be gained. Our teachers love children and are examples
as to how to be a disciple of God.
