Palm/Passion
Sunday - Sunday before Easter Palm/Passion service will be during the regular worship at 11:00 a.m. The service is a dual service - beginning with the excitement of the triumphal entry of Christ into Jerusalem and ending somberly with the remembrance of His sacrificial death on the cross. |

Holy
Thursday - Thursday before Easter Pleasant Grove celebrates Holy Thursday with a communion service in the Fellowship Hall. Service includes a dinner and a teaching Seder, in remembrance of the Last Supper which was a Seder meal. Holy Communion follows dinner. Good
Friday - Friday before Easter A Good Friday service is generally held at our sister church Mountain View UMC. It is an evening service and is a solemn reflection on the sacrifice Jesus made for us on the cross. The time and date are announced in the church bulletin and newsletter. |

Easter Sunrise
Service Worshipers gather at Sugarloaf Mountain, East Overlook for an ecumenical service. Come and be touched by the joy of remembering the first Easter morning. |

Easter Service - Festival
of the Resurrection During the 11 a.m. service, Pleasant Grove rejoices together in the Resurrection. The choir sings a special Easter Hymn to celebrate this holy day of rebirth and the renewal that we find in the Risen Christ. Come and celebrate with us the joy of Easter! |

Strawberry Festival
June Dinner is served from 4 to 7 p.m. Ham and chicken platters are $7.50 adults/$4.00 children. (Carry out is available.) Side dishes will include beans, chips, potatoes, and rolls. The Browningsville Band begins playing at 7 p.m. Strawberries and ice cream are available as well as bake table items. There is a play area outside for the children and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs to sit and enjoy the band. The time and date are announced in the church bulletin and newsletter. |

Peach Festival

Sunday School
Picnic - September Following Sunday School, the congregation meets as a local park for the annual Sunday School Picnic. Worship service is held at the park instead of the church building on this Sunday. Burgers, hotdogs, drinks, and plates/utensils will be provided. Each family is asked to bring a dish to share. There is a playground and basketball court adjacent to the picnic area. Come and help us celebrate the beauty of God's creation in this wonderful setting! Apple Butter
- October Each year, Pleasant Grove gathers to make apple butter for fundraising. Preparations begin on Thursday with peeling and slicing of the apples. On Saturday, the pots begin cooking at sunrise. Those who come out early enjoy a complimentary full country breakfast. Help is needed all day to stir the outdoor kettles and to can the jars as the butter finishes cooking. The exact dates and times are announced in the bulletin and newsletter. To purchase the apple butter, watch your newsletter or come to to the Fall Bazaar where jars will be offered for sale. |

Fall Bazaar-
November Pleasant Grove's other annual fundraiser is the Fall Bazaar. The bazaar features Christmas ornaments and gifts, tree skirts and pillows, placemats and table runners, dolls and bears, nuts and handmade chocolates. Lunch is served during the bazaar as well as bake table items. Preparations for the event begin months in advance. Watch the bulletin and newsletter for announcements. |

Hanging of the
Greens, Stuffing of BOCC Stockings- December Members of Pleasant Grove gather each year to fill stockings for the Board of Child Care and decorate the church sanctuary. Items for the stockings are collected by donation. Personal care items, candy, school supplies, socks, and games/toys for teens are among items requested. Watch the Newsletter for more details. This has been an annual event for the church for many years and is a cherished time as we gather together to celebrate God's gift to us in Christ Jesus by sharing God's love in tangible ways. |

Candlelight
Service - December 24th, 7:00 p.m. Come experience the wonder of Christmas as we celebrate Christ's birth by candlelight! The service will focus on the nativity and the joy surrounding Jesus' birth both then and now. If you feel that the holidays have lost their true meaning, if you want to forget the hectic pace of the holiday season and recapture the awe, if you want to feel that childlike joy again, come out and worship with us.
