Pastor Chris Humphreys was raised right here in the Fayetteville area and is a graduate of Cape Fear High School Class of 1972. After spending seventeen years in the United States Navy he answered God's call upon his life, left the service, completed his education earning a B.S. degree in clinical/counseling psychology from Methodist College, and entered the ministry as a part-time minister for the Clarkton-Bluefield Circuit. In 1994 he was appointed to the Swan Quarter Charge in Hyde County where he served four churches. He moved to Roanoke Rapids in 1998 and became the pastor of South Rosemary United Methodist Church where he met his lovely wife Melody. They were married on May 26, 2001 moved to Atlantic, NC and served Atlantic UMC until his appointment to the Victory-Person Street Charge. Pastor Chris has an adult daughter, Kristina who lives in the Greensboro.His father, a sister, and a brother still live in the Fayetteville area.. While not a musician, Pastor Chris has been known to bang a few chords on his guitar and belt out a song or two. He states he does it so folks will appreciate their choir members more
