Peck’s Memorial
is a Church at Worship

It is our firm conviction that worship (the work of the people) is as crucial to the Christian experience as bread and drink are to the maintenance of the physical life. We encourage our people to participate in Divine Worship. We seek to make our worship dignified, but warm; liturgical, but free; orderly, but not stilted and rigid. Our purpose: To Proclaim Christ.

Peck’s Memorial
is a Serving Church

It is our faith, and the teaching of our church, that persons born of the spirit of God can’t separate their faith from good works. Therefore, we have committed ourselves to the mission program of the church both at home and abroad.

We believe that wherever there is human need, suffering, injustice, etc., we must heed the words of our Lord when he said, "I assure you that whatever you did for the humblest of my brothers, you did for me."

Christianity is not to be lived in a vacuum, but in relationships. We believe that our faith is confirmed and strengthened as we share with the world the love God has so graciously bestowed upon us as children of grace.

We believe in the new birth and that new birth sets us out on a lifelong road of service.

Peck’s Memorial
is a Caring Church

We strive to be a church that cares for the spiritual and physical well-being of her people. This is done through compassionate concern for those who are a part of our family. In sickness, death, disaster, etc., the church stands ready through her ministry to care for you at any hour of the day or night.

One lady put it well after a death in her family. She gripped the pastor’s hand at the end of the worship service and said, "You know there is a lot of warmth in this church."

The words of the hymn, "Blest Be the Tie That Binds," say a great deal: "We share each other’s woes, Our mutual burdens bear, And often for each other flows the sympathizing tear." People are our concern.

Why Should You Choose Peck’s Memorial United Methodist Church?

This is always a perfectly legitimate question for one to ask before becoming affiliated with any body.

We feel we have two very good reasons why you should consider our church.

  • We have a great deal to offer you in the pursuit of the Christian pilgrimage. We feel we can be of service to you. We all want our lives to count for something and we can assist you in making your life full and meaningful in the Christian faith.

  • You have a significant contribution to make to the work of God’s Kingdom through the work of Peck’s Memorial United Methodist Church. It would be less than honest for us to say that we did not expect you to make your own contribution to our life as a church.

As you can well see, this is a two way street which can be mutually beneficial to all of us as we seek together to be the people of God as we work in His Kingdom.
