On October 11, PRUMC celebrated the National Observance of Children's Sabbaths. While this is a national event observed by many faith groups, it offers us the opportunity to do God's work in service to children right here in Cabell County.
Because of YOUR generosity, our Children's Sabbath "loose change" offering netted $350! I personally got to enjoy the noisy racket of the bank's coin machine as it processed over $170 in pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters – the sound of every little bit adding up!
Our youth were provided information about several local charities that serve children, and elected to donate money to two very worthy orgaizations:
- $200 is going to the Hovah H. Underwood Children's Home (Children's Home Society) in Ona, specifically to help provide Christmas for those children and adolescents who can't go home for the holiday.
- $150 is going to the Huntington Ronald McDonald House to purchase food items and toy/game batteries on their family "wish list".
Finally, thanks to our United Methodist Men's group for making it possible for the entire offering to help needy children, though their generous sponsorship of signs and prizes for Trunk or Treat. They are "sugar daddies" indeed!

but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity."
