November 18, 2006- Hi,

As many of you know Lisa had surgery on Thursday (Nov.9). She wasn't quite as sick to her stomach as with past surgeries, but is having a little more pain than other surgeries and her eye is swollen and yellowed more than bruised.

She can't see out of the right eye as well because of the swelling. We traveled to Philly (on Nov. 15) to see the eye doctor and he thought her eye looked good as far as no infection etc. We will need to go back this Tuesday (Nov 21) to see eye doctor and get one suture removed.

Lisa received her report card for the first 9 weeks making period. She made the distinguished honor roll with her grades being A’s and B’s. We are so proud of her progress. Right now she is having some difficulties with science. Now that she is getting farther into the year it is getting harder and more abstract things (she can't see etc--gases elements etc.). The teachers are helping her make some changes when she takes her tests etc. to help her better understand the material and take the tests.

Lisa is changing math classes. She did well in the math class she had last 9 weeks, so she is going to step up to the next level. She is looking forward to this class since math is one of her favorite classes.

As Thanksgiving is approaching, I reflect upon this past year as a difficult year, but one that because of so much support, love, and caring we can see God working each and every day. We are so thankful for all the prayers and support each of you gave us.

November 9, 2006(later)- Hi to all,

Lisa's surgery went well. We just tucked her into bed and are now off to get a bite of supper for ourselves. She didn't get as sick with this surgery as she did with the last. She had a pain pill. Her eye is swollen, but she can open it if she wants. But she said it is easier not too.

We will see what it looks like in the AM.

Thanks for all your prayers.

November 9, 2006- Hi to all,

Just to update you. Lisa went into surgery about 4:20 PM. Now we wait.

She was feeling fine about the surgery and even went to sleep (lightly) after the initial liquid medication.

Let you know how it all goes.

November 8, 2006- Hi to everyone,

We made it down to Philly with good traveling. There were Wet roads, rain in spots, and some slow traffic--but over all a good trip.

We are staying at Ronald McDonald's House. Lisa's surgery is scheduled for 2 PM on Thursday. I Thought I could get Lisa to do some homework in the morning and then visit some of the staff we had when we were down here before (at the Seashore House).

We will let you know how everything goes.

November 4, 2006- Hi. It has been a month since I have sent any new information about Lisa.

Lisa has been doing the same type of things. She is continuing school--full days. She is doing well with her classes. She has been doing well (most of the time) with her tests, homework, lab reports, quizzes and note taking. Occasionally she doesn't do so well on a test but sometimes she does super well.

She continues to participate in therapy--some in school and some out of school. She is still improving and the therapists are giving her challenges each week.

She is still improving with vocabulary and reading. I can tell she is learning more words, spelling is better and her writing has improved.

We will again be going to Philadelphia this week. We will leave on Nov. 8th so we will be down in Philly on the 9th for surgery. Lisa will have surgery again on her right eye upper and lower lids. We are expecting to do this surgery as a same day surgery--it will depend on how everything goes.

Lisa is ready and doesn't seem too anxious about it.

Lisa played her trumpet in the Halloween parade--a community tradition before the kids start the night of "trick-or-treating". She seemed to do well marching and playing.

Thank you for your support and prayers for us.
