May 27 - Here is the update for the week of May 27.

Lisa continues to go to school until almost 1 PM. She continues with the same classes. She is doing well in school. She has a spelling test each week--this week she got all hr words spelled correctly. She didn't have school on Friday because of the holiday, but that gave her extra time to read her book for reading class.

She continues with therapy. She is doing lots on exercises in physical therapy, games and mind challenging activities in occupational therapy, and word puzzles, logical thinking problems, and word recognition activities in speech. She is also going OT and speech therapy in school.

Lisa went to the last school dance for the year on Thursday. She had a good time with her friends. She continues to do community activities such as church events.

She is busy it seems all the time. In fact I would like her to do extra worksheets and reading but it seems there is not enough time in the day for those things.

She will have a couple of doctor appointments this week to fit into the schedule as well.

May 20 - This week’s schedule seems to be a bit more routine. Lisa had school everyday this week (except for Friday — in-service day at Wellsboro).

Lisa continues to do well. She is continues school and therapy. She is going to school until 12:50 PM with the extra class of Geography after lunch. She needed to do extra reading in that subject since the others in her class had started the unit ahead of her. But she is now at the same place learning about Africa. She continues to eat lunch at school (which she says is her favorite class!) She did well on her spelling test on Friday.

She has been out in the community doing activities and going to events. Sometimes it is hard to find time for her to do homework, exercises, reading, and the extra worksheets I have for her to do. She usually does homework without too much reminding.

Please continue to pray for Lisa's recovery. I can see improvements with work recognition, spelling and sentence structure, but she still needs to continue to work on these areas.

I have been back to work (at The Green Home--long term care nursing facility). I am grateful to be back full time so I can continue with medical insurance, but I am working the evening shift which is harder to schedule homework time with Lisa. We are still working out the schedule with transportation to/from school, to/from therapies, and study time.

May 13 - This week Lisa has done the same type of things--school and therapies.

She started another class in school--so she now has reading, English, art, science, and geography--and of course lunch. She needed to do extra reading to catch up where the other students were in the Geography unit since they had started that unit a few days before Lisa. She is almost at the same place. She had a spelling test which she did well and she handed in an extra credit report she wrote for Science.

She is continuing therapies. The therapists are always looking for more things to challenge her. They are doing things with logical thinking as well as word recognition, spelling, etc.

Lisa continues to do community activities. She enjoys getting out and doing the things she did before. Mom went back to work on Friday so we needed to arrange the home schedule for transportation etc.

May 6 - This week’s schedule seems to be a bit more routine. Lisa had school every day this week (except for Friday — in-service day at Wellsboro).

She goes half a day and then has lunch. She has been able to navigate the cafeteria and halls without any major problems.

She had two test on Thursday--spelling and science. She did very well on both tests. She is still going to English, reading, art and science classes. She sees her friends at lunch but doesn't have any classes with any of them.

She has been out in the community doing activities and going to events. She went fishing with the Boy Scouts on Thursday. She caught the most fish--which she is proud of that fact.

She is still doing worksheets and reading at home. She usually does homework without too much reminding. Please continue to pray for Lisa's recovery. I can see improvements with work recognition, spelling and sentence structure, but she still needs to continue to work on these areas.
