November 16, 2007-Lisa ended the first nine weeks on the honor roll. We are all proud of her. She saw the eye surgeon and had her sutures removed. Her eye is still swollen, so she will still have to see him again on Dec. 4.

November 8, 2007-Lisa had surgery for the tightening of the lower right eye lid. She did well, got a "tad" sick but didn't have much pain. Stayed overnight the night of surgery and then came home. She is up and running again. She needs to go back to see the doctor on Nov. 13 to get her sutures out.

(Please see the specific prayer requests at the bottom of this page)

September 5, 2007-The summer has come and almost gone.

Lisa ended the school year well. She had been on the honor roll the entire year. She received award for having the highest grade in her class, which she was honored to receive.

She also received award for the second highest grade in her algebra class.

She stayed busy at home during the summer. She worked on vocabulary words and reading and science. She did have summer school for 6 weeks (4 hours a week). She also had another surgery on her right eye lids in July. She did well with the surgery but the doctor still feels he should do “at least one more” surgery—so it is scheduled for November ’07.

She was discharged from speech therapy (outpatient) at the end of August. The therapist said there are a couple of things she could work on but really she can do it herself at home. So now she is no longer getting any therapies as outpatient. She will get occupational and speech therapy at school.

She started 9th grade in the High School this year. She had to learn a new school building and new class scheduling. But she has adjusted well so far. (She has her big brother in the same school if she really gets in trouble). She is not in any learning support classes but all the teachers are offering adaptive testing and help as she needs.

She is participating in band, which practices in the evening on Wednesdays. This band plays for the football games on Friday night so she has a couple of evenings that she is extra busy.

Many praises still are seen though Lisa’s life. She continues to improve in her language skills. She has finished with the outpatient therapies. She had a successful surgery in July.

Continue pray for continued healing for her brain, and eye. Her vision is poor in the right eye, which is a hindrance when doing activities such as sports in school. Her standardize tests show she is still behind her grade level even though is doing well in school.

Thanks for your many prayers and support.

May 15, 2007-Hi, it’s been a little while since I have updated everyone on Lisa's progress etc.

Lisa is continuing with the classes and school work. We are in the process of selecting classes for next year. She can take "regular classes", "honors classes", or "learning support classes". We have a meeting next week to decide what is best for her.

She is still participating in speech therapy, but she has been discharged from physical therapy. She needs to do exercises, sports, etc, at home to keep up her strength and endurance. She will do speech therapy through out the summer and then will be evaluated to see if she needs to continue or not.

We are planning for her next surgery in June. It is scheduled for June 19. We will go down to Philly on June 18 and stay overnight. I hope this is the last surgery (I said that on the last surgery).

We are also in the process of participating in the Geisinger Miracle Kid Network. She will be doing live interviews on TV (Channel 12--WBNG) on the weekend on June 3-4. We have already been videoed at our home to get some other background information. The entire family was videoed giving our views etc. Lisa is looking forward to the weekend events.

Scripture verses that remind us to look to God for hope, healing and strength.

"I love those who love me; And those who diligently seek me will find me." (Proverbs 8:17 NASB)

"I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the Lord." (Psalm 27 13-14 NASB)

"Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ., through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God." (Romans 5:1-2 NASB)

"And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Jesus Christ." (Philippians 4:7 NASB)
