February 10, 2007- Lisa is doing well and working hard to continue to improve. She is continuing with therapies after school. She is still doing physical therapy which is mainly strengthening her legs and arms and speech therapy which is still working on word structure, thought process, vocabulary, etc. She also does occupational therapy and speech in school. These therapies help to improve on the areas where she is behind. She is done with the doctor appointments for now. She had the surgery in November and the upper eye lid is doing well. She will need another surgery (we are waiting until summer so she doesn’t miss school) for the lower eye lid. This lid still is pulling away from the eye so the goal is to tighten it up to the eye. She doesn’t have too much trouble with her eye except that is gets dry frequently. Lisa got her report card for the 9 weeks. She made the honor roll with As, Bs, and 1 C. She had trouble with science but with some changes in test taking and help from the teacher (reading the test questions to her) she brought the grade up to a C. She went into the higher math class and is doing well in it. We has been asked by Geisinger Medical Center to participate in their Miracle Kid Program this year. We are in the beginning stages but are excited that the medical profession has taken note of Lisa miracle (and we know it was because of prayer). She is busy with extra activities. She started as manager of the girl’s basketball team this season. She helps them with practices and is able to do some of the exercises with them so it is a double benefit for her. She is still involved with the community children’s choir and girl scouts. |
