 WHEN:  9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

WHERE:  Fellowship Hall & the Education Wing

Come see a Sunday School like you’ve never experienced before!  Bible T.R.E.K. is our exciting new program.  We provide a modified workshop rotation format where the same Bible story is taught for a five-week period using multi-learning styles.  The children take part in telling the Bible story via different media, such as Computers, Puppets, Cooking, Drama, Music, as well as create expressions of Art that shows what they are learning.

Workshops that we offer include the following:

Cyberspace (computers)

One of the most popular workshop with the kids, CyberSpace, our Computer workshop, provides an opportunity for children to learn in a way that they love! For this generation of kids, computers are part of the everyday scene. This workshop uses computers as tools to improve the Bible literacy of our children and youth.

After reading the Bible story, kids design quizzes, take virtual tours of the Holy Land, write and illustrate Bible stories in their own words, create graphic designs which represent Biblical symbols, research Bible culture, e-mail our missionaries (soon!), and much much more!

Galactic Games (Games workshop)

This is the workshop where children experience the Bible through life-size games and game shows.  Bible geography, culture and time lines are part of the emphasis in this workshop. But it's not all sit-down, passive learning! Active games are designed to drive home the Biblical points and make them real for children in today's world.

Galaxy Theater (Video)

In our video workshop, children hear the Bible story and then experience it in a new and deeper way by watching quality presentations on our Bigscreen TV while comfortably seated in self-made movie theater!  Lively discussion follows as they are challenged to relate the "old" story to their everyday lives. And of course, what's a movie theatre without popcorn? Each Sunday, our children are greeted by the mouth-watering aroma of freshly popped corn.

Creation Station (Art & Science)

During this workshop, kids hear the Bible story and respond to what they have heard and learned by creating art projects using many different media . . . including mosaics, collage, painting, sculpting, pottery, real-live brick-making, and more.

Art projects are designed to allow children to manipulate the materials to express the story in new and thoughtful ways as they deepen their understanding of God's Word.

Milky Way Productions (Drama)

In the Drama workshop, children read or listen to the Bible story and discuss it, talking in depth about the character(s) and scene(s). Then the story is re-enacted using props and costumes or perhaps a new modern-day script is written to explain the same principle or concept being taught.  Students will sometimes videotape themselves as they star in their own productions.
